Peter has more than 40 years experience in accountancy and hotel management. He started his career in Hong Kong with KPMG Peat Marwick in 1972, before joining the hotel industry in 1980. He worked both at the Mandarin Oriental as chief accountant and was later on promoted to assistant financial controller at The Excelsior Hong Kong. In 1985 Peter joined Far East Hotels and Entertainment Limited, a listed company on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange as its financial manager. In this capacity he headed one holding company and seventeen subsidiaries of hotels, restaurants, bowling centers, cinemas and an entertainment park.
In 1986 Peter joined the Peninsula Group Hong Kong and was assigned as the financial controller of the Garden Hotel in Guangzhou. In 1988 he was appointed as the financial controller of the world famous Peninsula Hotel in Hong Kong, before joining The Ritz Carlton Hong Kong in a similar capacity in 1991. In March/April 1991, before joining the pre-opening team of the hotel in Hong Kong, Peter took an orientation trip to The States where he visited seven sister hotels of The Ritz-Carlton Group in six different USA cities. In 1993 Peter left The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong to devote his efforts in developing his own company, CitiAc Management Consultancy Limited. In 2007 Peter set up an office named CitiAc Management Consultancy (Shanghai) Limited in Shanghai. In 2025, CitiAc Management Consultancy (Shenzhen) Limited was set up in Shenzhen.
